Description

The Large Number Cards 1 to 9000 is a comprehensive Montessori Mathematics material used to introduce, construct, and read multi-digit numbers across the entire four-digit decimal hierarchy ($1$ to $9,999$). Serving as the primary symbol set for the Decimal System, these cards are used alongside the Golden Bead Material and Stamp Game to layout starting quantities, formulate equations, and master complex place value concepts.Key Benefits & Learning OutcomesComplete Decimal Hierarchy Reading: Allows children to compose and read any 4-digit number up to $9,999$ by physically selecting and superimposing individual place-value cards.Mastery of Superimposition (Expanded Notation): Demonstrates how multi-digit numbers are built from discrete components—placing $6$ over $40$ over $500$ over $3000$ visually shows how $3000 + 500 + 40 + 6$ becomes $3546$.Standard Hierarchy Color Coding: Keeps place value intuitive through standard Montessori visual anchors:Green: Units ($1$–$9$) and Thousands ($1,000$–$9,000$)Blue: Tens ($10$–$90$)Red: Hundreds ($100$–$900$)Large-Scale Layout & Problem Setup: Designed at a large scale so numbers can be clearly read across a floor work mat by multiple children during group math presentations and decimal operations.Design & MaterialsIncluded Components:36 High-Contrast Cards:9 Unit Cards: $1$ through $9$ printed in Green (single-width).9 Ten Cards: $10$ through $90$ printed in Blue (double-width).9 Hundred Cards: $100$ through $900$ printed in Red (triple-width).9 Thousand Cards: $1000$ through $9000$ printed in Green (quadruple-width).1 compartmentalized wooden storage box or tray for organized shelf presentation.Material: Smooth natural hardwood or heavy-duty plasticized fiberboard finished with non-toxic paint and durable sealants.Features: Engineered with exact proportional horizontal scaling so that when cards are stacked right-aligned, the digits overlay perfectly to show a unified 4-digit number.
